Visit to Ames

On our long weekend off from school we visited my Uncle Jim and Aunt Joyce in Ames, IA. We had a great time! Here we are riding the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad.

Fire Station Visit

I took the day off from school and celebrated my birthday by joining Madelyn on her field trip to the Fire Station with her class.

First Hair Cut!

Madelyn had her first hair cut, which was really more of a trim. It was getting so long and snarly, we thought taking off a bit of the ends might help!

Weekend with Nana

We had an out of town wedding last Saturday night. Nana came to stay overnight with the girls while Nick and I had our first night away together! We all had a wonderful time! Thanks Nana!

Last Saturday, we walked in the Bike/Hike for Bus on the 400 Trail. Our friend, Terri, "Bus," passed away six months ago after her courageous battle with cancer. This event was in honor of her and helped raise money for a scholarship in her name and a bench to be placed on the trail. It was a beautiful, chilly fall morning, and I truly felt Terri's presence as we walked.

Oakwood Fruit Farm

We visited Oakwood Fruit Farm a few weekends ago. We got apples, pumpkins, "funny" gourds, caramel apples, apple cider donuts...yummy! And it was a beautiful fall day for a drive.
